U14 CL 2009 Final v Gneeveguilla

PLAYED in wet conditions on a superb pitch in Knocknagoshel both St. Senans and Gneeveguilla served up a thrilling game in the U-14 County League Div 6B final.

St Senan's playing with a strong breeze grabbed an early goal, but this was cancelled out as Gneeveguilla scored a goal of their own and after some excellent point scoring both teams finished with 1-3 apiece at half-time.

Facing into a strong breeze St Senan's pounced for another goal and despite enormous pressure from Gneeveguilla in the second half the St Senan's backs held solid as their forwards combined for another goal to seal victory.

Coiste na nOg Vice-Chairperson Eamon Whelan presented the plaque to winning captain Oliver Porter. The game was excellently referred by Eddie Barrett.
