Saint Senans hold off Moyvane surge.

THERE was nothing between these two sides in a very evenly matched first half. There was good open football played, with both sides playing well. It was Senans who opened the scoring after three minutes of play, but Moyvane struck back on the fifth minute with a Liam O’Connor goal. By half time the sides were all square – Moyvane 1-2 Senans 0-5.

The second half started well for Senans Padraig Quill had his side ahead with a point from play and on the eighth minute David Foran had Senans’ first goal to put Senans ahead by four points. While Moyvane did rally back to within a point of Senans midway through the second half the, the Senans lads managed to hang on to win by two points.

Bord na nÓg Chairman Tomas Keane presented the plaque to Tom McElligott St Senans captain, and the game was well refereed by Dan Hicky from Duagh and I must say that the Duagh club had the pitch in top condition.
